Lung Cancer Screening and Tobacco Cessation ECHO – 2-18-2020 – Recording
Didactic: "Lung Cancer Screening Research and Guidelines"
View MoreThis session provided an overview of the evidence to support lung cancer screening, including its evolution and the slight variances in different guidelines/recommendations by organizations.
Robert Smith, PhD, FSBI
This session provided an overview of how one system (Vanderbilt) reopened their lung cancer screening program after the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This included topics on risk mitigation, rescheduling appointments, and the use of telemedicine for shared decision-making.
Kim Sandler, MD
This session will help participants better understand what makes patients decide to receive lung cancer screening or decline to receive their screening. It will also introduce the notion of stigma and bias and how both factor into a patient’s decision to screen or not to screen. There will also be discussion around how the stress of COVID-19 may make it difficult for individuals to quit smoking.
