Animal-Assisted Therapy in Cancer ECHO
November 2024 - April 2025
The American Cancer Society has developed an ECHO program with the goal to increase access to and impact of the therapeutic benefits of animal-assisted therapy for children and teens with cancer, and their caregivers. The target audience for this program is health care professionals, including Certified Child Life Specialists and hospital administration, interested in developing or growing animal-assisted therapy programs to support children with cancer, including inpatient and outpatient health care settings. This activity is pre-approved and meets the Association of Child Life Professionals’ standards for a total of 6 professional development units (PDUs). All sessions are 12:00 – 1:00 PM CT.
